LIMOUSINE BREED
The Limousine breed is an ancient European beef cattle breed that has been effectively selected for the following characteristics:
Remarkable Rusticity
High slaughter yield
Precocity in commercial maturation of fattened animals
Large makes childbirth easier
Strong maternal attitudes.
It was also decided to differentiate the breed into a so-called "Elevage" line in which it was preferred to select for the marked aptitude for giving birth and raising calves and into a line called "Viande" in which it was preferred to privilege the marked ability to produce meat in a short time.
It is also possible to have animals with the MH trait, the so-called "Culard" or "double thigh", which guarantee extreme musculature with maximum yields at slaughter, and genetically hornless animals, the so-called "Polled", which produce subjects with enormous advantages for animal welfare during the fattening phase.
